Named Accountable GP

All patients (including children) have been allocated a Named Accountable GP, as required under the GMS Contract.

Please ask at reception should you wish to know who your Named Accountable GP is.

You can continue to see any Doctor or Nurse of your choice and your clinical care will not be affected.

From 1st April 2018 the practice will no longer be

accepting telephone orders for medications.

Please be aware that as from the 1st October 2019 certain medications for minor health conditions such as hayfever, insect bites, sunburn and head lice will no longer be available on prescription. AXE THE FAX

The NHS have been instructed that all fax machines must be decommissioned by April 2020.  As of 30.11.19 Dr Counsell & Partners will no longer have a fax line

Important information about the coronavirus (Covid-19)

 

The NHS across Bolton will be better prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases, if the public follows Public Health England advice.

 

The NHS has put in place measures to ensure the safety of patients and staff which may mean your patient experience is subject to change.

 

The Chief Medical Officer announced on Friday 13 March that the country is moving into the ‘Delay’ stage of the response to coronavirus (Covid-19).

 

The new advice issued by the Chief Medical Officer is to stay at home for 7 days if you have either:

  •  a high temperature or

  • a new continuous cough

 

Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or a hospital. You do not need to contact 111 to tell them you're staying at home.

 

Use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service if:

  • you feel you cannot cope with your symptoms at home

  • your condition gets worse

  • your symptoms do not get better after 7 days

 

Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

Everyone is being reminded to follow Public Health England advice to:

 

  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze. Then bin the tissue, and wash your hands, or use a sanitiser gel.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after using public transport. Use a sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.

Due to Coronavirus: all routine face to face appointments have been suspended and a telephone triage system is in place.

During the telephone consultation the GP/ clinician will assess your condition based on the information you give over the phone, if the GP feels you require a face to face assessment this may be arranged once they have ensured you do not present with any of the symptoms above.

Please be aware there is inaccurate information circulating on social media regarding special 'rescue packs' for people with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Only people who usual have a 'rescue pack' need one, these are for bacterial infections not viruses such as COVID-19.
Please do not request a rescue pack if it is not necessary, as dealing with these inappropriate non-urgent requests detracts GPs from helping those most in need during this very challenging time for the NHS.
You should continue to manage your condition in the usual way.

NEW: There is now a FREE app available on iPhones and iPads to order your prescriptions and make appointments through. To find this App in the App Store simply type in TPP and download it. If you are already registered to use the online service then it is the same username and password, if you are not please contact reception to register. It is not currently available for Android phones and tablets.
